Those of you planning to attend the NFL’s upcoming Super Bowl game in comfort at Meftlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey better be prepared to fork over a lot of bills.

Premium tickets at last season’s Super Bowl in New Orleans cost $1,250… this year’s tickets will cost $2,600! There will be 9,000 of those expensive seats available for the February 2 game.

Why the sky-high price?

“We are looking to close the gap between the face value of the ticket and its true value as reflected on the secondary market,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Tuesday. “The uniqueness of the Super Bowl in the New York/New Jersey is also driving unprecedented demand and buzz.”

The second most expensive seats will likely be selling for $1,500, a price also nearly twice that of last year’s.

A group of 1,000 people will be notified this Fall of their winning the least expensive ticket… which costs $500.

Man Gets Beaten, Stabbed And Robbed In London… All Over a Video Game

The demand for the all-new Grand Theft Auto V is extremely high… so high that at least one person has gotten attacked over it.

A 23-year-old man waited in line for hours to get his hands on the new game at an Asda store in North London. Eventually, his mission was accomplished, and he happily left the store after 1 a.m. Tuesday to head home.

At around 1:20 a.m., the man was attacked with a brick and stabbed…. and then robbed. One of the items the multiple suspects took was the video game- GTA V.

You have to feel more than bummed hearing this story. The man waited in line for so long to simply get a game, only to be badly hurt and lose it shortly afterward. Luckily, he is in stable condition and is expected to recover just fine. I’m sure he will get the new game again soon.

No video game is worth harming someone or getting in trouble for… so don’t even think about it.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Apologizes After Oscar De La Hoya Insult Hits Instagram

Undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is currently celebrating his win over Canelo Alvarez, apologized Monday night to former rival Oscar De La Hoya after an offensive photo and caption were made public from Mayweather’s Instagram account.

The photo pokes fun at De La Hoya’s addiction problem and rehab, reading, “I gave Canelo the wrong Blueprint I was high.” De La Hoya said he had given Alvarez the blueprint to defeat Mayweather in their recent Las Vegas fight, according to CBS.

Ouch! The photo is not only about a sensitive subject, but was posted at a bad time, as De La Hoya just recently checked into rehab.

Mayweather accepts no part of the photo and slams it in his apology.

“It’s unfortunate that a stupid picture was posted to my Instagram account earlier today that was not posted by me or authorized by me to post,” Mayweather said in an e-mail to reporters.

“As I clearly stated during my fight week and again in the post-fight press conference, I completely support Oscar De La Hoya and his family during this difficult time in his life. Although we have had our differences in the past, I stand by him unconditionally and would never personally disrespect him or anyone who struggles with addiction.

“I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting. I wish him well and am rooting for him to win this fight, too.”

Good for Mayweather to clear this up.

Seaside Boardwalk Fire Determined To Be Accidental

CBS

Last week’s heart-breaking Jersey Shore fire that destroyed dozens of businesses along the boardwalk in Seaside Park and Seaside Heights, New Jersey was ruled accidental Tuesday by investigators.

Investigators will share more details at a 2 p.m. news conference in Toms River so people understand that the event was not a case of arson.

Governor Chris Christie and local officials are already planning the rebuilding process, which now is directly linked to the already ongoing recovery from Hurricane Sandy, which slammed the region just under a year ago.
